On September 11th, we attended an important workshop in Velenje focused on the green transformation of the Šaleska Valley. The workshop concentrated on information dissemination and raising awareness about the planned renovation of the district heating system in the SAŠA region, as well as promoting energy renovation and changing habits.

The event brought together key stakeholders including KSSENA, KPV, RA-SAŠA, the Municipality of Velenje, the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy, and two experts from the European Commission.

Organized as part of the technical assistance for the SAŠA region under the European Commission’s Just Transition Platform “JTP Groundwork,” the workshop aimed to discuss effective communication strategies for the district heating system renovation. This project, included in the Regional Plan for a Fair Transition SAŠA Transition Plan (ONPP SAŠA), is considered a strategic operation.

The primary objective was to gain broader public support for the project and increase awareness of the upcoming activities. By engaging a diverse group of stakeholders, we sought to identify and develop communication strategies that will enhance public understanding. The key messages created during the workshop will also support our project’s communication and dissemination efforts.
