On April 22nd and 23rd, our 3DIVERSE partners from Komunalno podjetje Velenje (KPV) visited two companies in Vienna: Wiener Netze GmbH and KLINGER Fluid Control. Both visits presented exemplary practices in energy supply and network management.

A look inside of one of the main pumping stations of the Vienna district heating system.

Wiener Netze GmbH specialises in providing energy infrastructure and services, as well as conducting research and development projects to provide creative solutions for a sustainable energy future. This involves integrating renewable energy sources and promoting the use of energy-efficient devices.

Another useful visit was to KLINGER Fluid Control GmbH, where they manufacture ball valves, gate valves and butterfly valves that are installed in district heating systems and guarantee a long service life under the most demanding operating conditions.

Due to KPV plays a key role in the optimization of the district heating network and the deployment of new RES sources as part of the Transformation of District Heating, the visits were an important segment in terms of best practices, including the implementation of this knowledge into the 3DIVERSE project and the projects that lie ahead in the coming years.
