On October 23, a study on the use of biomass in the Šaleška Valley was presented to the members of the Project Council for the Transformation of the Šaleška Valley District Heating System. The study, written as part of the 3DIVERSE project, represents a significant contribution and will play a crucial role in the decision-making process for the system's transformation, as part of the broader transformation of the Šaleška Valley.

On 5-6 November, the kick-off meeting of the Renov-AID project was held in Velenje, offering an excellent opportunity to connect with the 3DIVERSE project, which shares similar challenges. The Renov-AID project focuses on developing a Slovenian “one-stop-shop” model, guiding citizens in the urban municipalities of Ljubljana, Kranj, and Velenje towards energy renovations.

The 3DiVERSE project is advancing innovative solutions in energy transition with a focus on decentralization, diverse energy sources, and dynamic load management. In this newsletter, we highlight the important developments and successes of the 3DiVERSE project during the last six months.

On October 1^st the 3Diverse consortium gathered in Velenje for its 5th General Project Meeting. Hosted by the project coordinator KSSENA, the event brought together all partners to review the progress made in sustainable district heating systems, energy renovations, digital twin technology, and citizen-focused financing models.

From September 4th to 6th the international conference TBMCE 2024 (Technologies & Business Models for Circular Economy) took place in Portorož for the seventh time. It was attended by our partners from University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The conference focused on emerging technologies and innovative approaches - from development environments to practical implementation.

On September 11th, we attended an important workshop in Velenje focused on the green transformation of the Šaleska Valley. The workshop concentrated on information dissemination and raising awareness about the planned renovation of the district heating system in the SAŠA region, as well as promoting energy renovation and changing habits.

The SZE 2024 International Conference, titled "Response of Energy Solutions to Climate Change", brought together over 200 experts from industry and academia to address the pressing issue of climate change. Held in the coastal town of Portorož, the conference focused on high-tech solutions that can enhance energy efficiency, produce cleaner energy, and promote social prosperity.

We are pleased to announce that we have established an important connection with the delegation from North Macedonian, which is working on the restructuring and development of coal regions in their country. Our partners from UL FE LEST hosted them last week.

On May 21, 2024, the 6th International EnRe Conference held in Velenje, Slovenia at the Faculty of Energy Technology, University of Maribor. In the face of rising climate challenges, the EnRe conference focused on pathways to climate neutrality and a green transition. The conference brought together experts, researchers, policymakers, and business leaders to share their experiences and research.

We are pleased to announce that the consultancy office of the Borzen RES Info Point for the Promotion of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) has been launched in the premises of the KSSENA in Velenje. The office is open to anyone who intends to establish renewable energy system for the generation and/or storage of renewable energy and need assistance with project implementation, support on getting all essential consents and permissions, or information on investments.
