The 3DIVERSE consortium met in Ljubljana on March 12 for its 6th General Project Meeting, hosted at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering by project partner Kolektor sETup.

On Tuesday, March 4, we hosted a delegation from Kosovo, where we shared our experiences and presented the key areas of our work.

The 9th Annual Forum was held in Brdo Pri Kranju, on the 14th and 15th of November 2024. This year EUSALP presidency belonged to Slovenia presented an overall strategy on how to maintain sustainable future in the Alpine region.

For the last 150 years, coal mining has had a significant impact on economic and social development of the Savinjsko-šaleška region, especially the Šalek Valley. The Šalek Valley has paid a heavy environmental price for its wider social development.

On November 13, 2024 the final event of the Act!onHeat project took place in Brussels. The project aimed to accelerate the adoption of strategic heating and cooling planning in cities and regions across Europe. It identified key success factors of robust and efficient existing heating and cooling plans, developed a workflow for strategic H&C planning based on existing open-source tools, created a Local Replication Roadmap, and compiled 21 actionable recommendations covering planning, implementation, financing, and policy.

On October 23, a study on the use of biomass in the Šaleška Valley was presented to the members of the Project Council for the Transformation of the Šaleška Valley District Heating System. The study, written as part of the 3DIVERSE project, represents a significant contribution and will play a crucial role in the decision-making process for the system's transformation, as part of the broader transformation of the Šaleška Valley.

As part of the educational series on energy, mobility, waste, and the green economy, held on October 10, 2024, at "Podnebno energetska pisrana Velenje", 3DIVERS project partner KPV presented the Characteristics of District Heating in the Šaleška Valley.

On 5-6 November, the kick-off meeting of the Renov-AID project was held in Velenje, offering an excellent opportunity to connect with the 3DIVERSE project, which shares similar challenges. The Renov-AID project focuses on developing a Slovenian “one-stop-shop” model, guiding citizens in the urban municipalities of Ljubljana, Kranj, and Velenje towards energy renovations.

The 3DiVERSE project is advancing innovative solutions in energy transition with a focus on decentralization, diverse energy sources, and dynamic load management. In this newsletter, we highlight the important developments and successes of the 3DiVERSE project during the last six months.

On October 1^st the 3Diverse consortium gathered in Velenje for its 5th General Project Meeting. Hosted by the project coordinator KSSENA, the event brought together all partners to review the progress made in sustainable district heating systems, energy renovations, digital twin technology, and citizen-focused financing models.
